Investing in Our People, Investing in the Future
Real Living Wage Increasing This October

At ServiceMaster Clean Contract Services Mid Anglia & Norfolk we believe that fair pay builds a stronger business. That is why we are proud to be a Real Living Wage employer.
From October 2025 the Real Living Wage will be increasing, ensuring that employees across the United Kingdom receive pay that more accurately reflects the true cost of living. Unlike the Government’s National Minimum Wage and National Living Wage, the Real Living Wage is independently calculated based on what people need to live well and with dignity.
For us the decision to commit to the Real Living Wage goes beyond pay rates. It is about valuing our people and recognising the vital role they play in delivering reliable and high quality cleaning services to our clients every single day.
Why it matters
Fair pay drives better performance. People work at their best when they feel secure and valued.
A stronger and more reliable workforce. Investing in our team reduces turnover and builds long term commitment.
Better outcomes for our customers. When our people feel supported the service they deliver is second to none.
How the Real Living Wage is calculated
The Real Living Wage is set each year by the Living Wage Foundation. It is based on the actual cost of living and reflects what households need in order to cover everyday essentials such as food, housing, transport and energy bills. Independent research is carried out to calculate these figures and ensure they are realistic.
Two rates are announced:
- One for the United Kingdom as a whole
- A separate higher rate for London to reflect the higher cost of living in the capital
These rates are reviewed annually and announced every autumn. Employers then have a set period of time to implement the updated pay rates for their staff.
Our commitment
Whether you are an existing team member or someone considering joining us our promise is simple.
You will always earn at least the Real Living Wage.
We know that choosing the Real Living Wage is the right thing to do for our employees, for our clients and for our business as a whole. By ensuring fair pay we are investing in a future where everyone can thrive.
Note on the new rates
The updated Real Living Wage rates for 2025 will be published in October. Once confirmed we will share the new hourly figures for both the United Kingdom and London so everyone knows exactly what the changes are.
